Every year, about one million people die by suicide, according to official WHO statistics. We can say that in the world more people die from suicide than from wars and terrorism. Among young people aged 15–29 years, suicide is the second leading cause of death after death in road traffic crashes.
October 6, 2022 Associate Professor of the Department of Public Health Tokesheva Sh. M. held a curatorial hour on the topic: “Value your life!”. Sailaugaliyeva Farida (Group 401, specialty “Public Health”) made a meaningful presentation on the topic, tested her groupmates for suicidal tendencies. Reasons for suicide, warning signs of a possible suicide, suicidal behavior that is possible and normal, as well as the role of society in suicide prevention were discussed.
Students expressed a common opinion – one should value one’s life; sometimes it is enough to show attention a little more than usual to keep someone from the fatal line…
