The Nevzorov Family Museum of Fine Arts is a museum in Semey. Founded in 1985, it is currently one of the largest collections of artistic values in Kazakhstan. The museum is located in a complex of buildings, the oldest of which was built in the 1870s by the merchant of the first guild Fyodor Stepanov.
As part of the implementation of the educational work plan, the Department of Dental Disciplines and Maxillofacial Surgery, together with curatorial groups, organized and visited the museum. On October 11, 2022, 403 group of the Faculty of Dentistry with the curator, assistant of the Department of Dental Disciplines and Maxillofacial Surgery Mukhtar M.R. visited the Museum of Fine Arts named after the Nevzorov family. The museum has more than 3,600 works of art in its collections. The museum’s exposition presents the ways of development of Russian art of the late XVIII – early XX century; the section of fine arts of Kazakhstan (more than a thousand exhibits) is represented by the most vivid and original representatives of the national artistic culture. There is a small department of Western European painting and graphics of the late XVI – early XX century. Also, on display are works of art from the CIS countries of the twentieth century – Russia, Central Asia, Georgia, Armenia, Belarus and others.
The main role of museums is to educate people.
