Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease. High blood glucose is a risk factor for the development of vascular diseases, kidney damage, and the development of blindness. Maintaining a normal body weight, regular exercise and a healthy diet will help reduce the risk of diabetes.

The goal of the World Diabetes Day is to raise awareness of all segments of the population about the symptoms of the disease, about possible complications and the need for medical examinations and preventive medical examinations. The number of people suffering from diabetes has almost quadrupled since 1980. The prevalence of this disease is growing all over the world.

And in order to prevent and raise awareness among young people, on November 14, 2022, in the curatorial group of 102 specialty “Pharmacy”, the curator of the Department of Biochemistry and Chemical Disciplines named after Professor Tapbergenov S. O. Murtazina D. D. held a conversation dedicated to this day.

Thus, the World Diabetes Day is of great importance for the entire modern society. The frequency of its holding and the scale of the event make it possible to adequately cover all segments of the population in all countries of the world. It is thanks to this that every year the treatment and detection of the disease are becoming more successful.
