November 25, 2022, a meeting of the scientific student society “Molecular Genetics Researchers” was held at the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics named after the academician of National Academy of sciences Republic of Kazakhstan Raissov T.K. The student society consists of 82 students of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th courses of specialties “General Medicine”, “Pharmacy”, “Dentistry”.
Attended by: head of the department, PhD, associate Professor Orazalina A.S., teacher: Mukhamediarova L.A. – responsible for the department SSC, chairman of the SSC – Kalelova Malika, 2nd year student of the specialty “General Medicine”; chairman of the SSC at the University Sadykova Anar, 5th year student of the specialty “Dentistry”, as well as students of 1, 2, 3, 4 courses of specialties “General Medicine”, “Pharmacy”, “Dentistry”.
The agenda included: 1. Familiarization of the circle participants with the goals and objectives of the SSC, approval of the composition of the SSC, development of a work plan for the year;
- Familiarization of students with the rights and duties of members of the SSC; directions of work of the scientific circle.

- Speech by the chairman of the SNK – Kalelova Malika, 2nd year student of General Medicine, Chairman of the SSC at the University of Sadykova Anara, 5th year student of Dentistry.
Student scientific society is a form of organization of research activities of students, expressed in attracting students to scientific research, participation in student scientific conferences of various levels. The main purpose of the work of the SSC is to create and develop favorable conditions for the formation of students’ competencies through the development of students’ research activities, their participation in scientific projects conducted at the department, on the basis of the university; providing an opportunity for each student to realize the creative development of personality in accordance with his abilities and needs.
The head of the department, PhD, Associate Professor Orazalina A.S. spoke: “Dear students, we are always glad to see you in the student scientific society. Welcome to our research society of the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics named after the academician of National Academy of sciences Republic of Kazakhstan Raissov T.K.”.
The work of students is one of the main directions in the learning process, contributing to the development of professional qualities of the student. The beginning of scientific work of a student of a medical higher educational institution, as a rule, is a student scientific society, where the student acquires the first experience of research, analytical, creative work combining the possibilities of practical application of theoretical knowledge.
She spoke about the achievements of the circle members and the active work of students over the past 2021-2022 academic year. We had 72 participants in our society last year. Our students of the scientific society participate in various conferences: intra-university, inter-university, as well as in international conferences of various levels, for example in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan, take prizes. Abstracts and articles were published in the peer-reviewed scientific and practical journal “Science and Healthcare”.
Our department and teachers, as scientific supervisors of scientific works, always support, help students, teach the basics and methods of conducting scientific research, listen to reports and after conferences, the results of scientific work and further development of skills are discussed.
By participating in research activities, you will learn the skills of literary review, search skills in scientific data sources (Pub Med., Cochrane library, etc.), oratory develops. Aynash Saparovna thanked each student for showing interest in science, for striving to improve their knowledge. She noted that it is very important for a competitive and professional doctor to have a stock of knowledge and always be in development.
The chairman of the SSC, Malika Kalelova, a 2nd-year student of the specialty “General Medicine”, spoke about the main forms of participation at the conference: publication of abstracts + oral report (duration – no more than 7 minutes); only oral report; only publication of abstracts; poster report. Also about the sections of the conference that may be. Malika presented information about the number of students who can explore one topic and about the choice and contact with the head. She told about her experience and about the prizes taken in conferences.
Sadykova Anar, a 5th-year student who was previously the chairman of the scientific society of the department, made a motivational speech. She participated in various student, interuniversity, and international conferences, won prizes, and now she is the chairman of the SSO at the university. She spoke about her experience, how to behave correctly during speeches, about the elements that need to be used during the presentation of the PPT, also noted that any experience is development, knowledge, learning new skills.
The meeting was concluded by the responsible teacher Mukhamediyarova L.A. She told how the meetings of the SSC are held in various organizational forms (dispute, report, case, etc.). At the meetings of the SSC, planning of further scientific activities of the members of the SSC, a report on the work done, preparation of the members of the SSC for scientific conferences of various levels, etc., Laura Altayevna showed a presentation with the achievements of the members of the society, the names of the winners. Also, the teacher of the department Mukhamediarova L.A. explained that the student learns the methodology of processing the data obtained and analyzing the results, compiling and formatting reports and reports on the results of research work. The work of the scientific society contributes to the expansion of the horizons and scientific erudition of students. In the future, some of our graduates choose a scientific field for themselves and successfully defend their dissertations. Laura Altaevna thanked the students for their active participation and presence at the meeting of the scientific society.
