Nauryz

Nauryz is the main holiday of the year for both Kazakhs and many Asian peoples, celebrated for more than five thousand years. It is a celebration of spring, renewal of nature, the beginning of a new year, a new life. The celebration of Nauryz has pagan roots, it is a celebration of nature worship. Nauryz is celebrated on March 22 on the day of the vernal equinox. On this day, the heavenly bodies: constellations and stars after a one-year cycle come to the points of their initial stay and begin a new path.

Kazakhs call Nauryz “Ulystyn uly kuni”, which means “Great Day of the People” in Russian, its name “Nauryz” consists of two ancient Iranian words “know” (new) and “rose” (day).

On March 20, 2023 at the Department of Physiological Disciplines named after Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan T.A. Nazarova held a celebration of the holiday “Nauryz” with the participation of the curatorial group 1227 om. Students of this group prepared a small idea about this holiday, performed festive numbers.
