On May 3, 2023, the Department of Pediatrics and Medical Rehabilitation named after Tussupova D.M. conducted a professional orientation session with interns specializing in “Neonatology.” Residents of the 1st and 2nd year courses and the responsible person for the residency, Alibekova B.A., familiarized the interns with the specialty. Second-year resident Bitimirova A.O. described what a neonatologist does, what constitutes the basis of their work, and informed them that there are two branches in the cities of Pavlodar and Ust-Kamenogorsk. Professional internships are also available in rural areas and other cities. Second-year residents had internships in the cities of Altai, Usharal, and the village of Kalbatau and shared their practical experience with the interns. Additionally, photos of residents in daily work in the departments of the “Regional Perinatal Center of Abai” were shown, as well as a video made by residents for Premature Babies Day. Interns asked questions about academic mobility, professional internships, and the relevance of this specialty. All questions were answered by the residents.
