In 2023, on October 18, students of the supervisory group 5207 of the Faculty of General Medicine (supervisor Smail E.M.) took an excursion to Polkovnichiy Island. This island is one of the main attractions of the city of Semey.
On the island, the children visited the alley with the “Stronger than Death” memorial, which was erected in memory of the victims of the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site.
To reach the island, the students crossed the bridge leading to Polkovnichy Island. The children enjoyed the fresh air, feeling the untouched nature and silence of the forest. A tour of the walking area on the island is available to everyone, because it is a very good place for recreation and tourism.
