In 2023, On October 19, students of the 5207 curatorial group of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Dermatovenereology and Immunology of SMU, NCJCS (curator E.M. Smail) visited the State Historical-Cultural and Literary-Memorial Museum-Reserve of Abay “Zhidebay-Borili”.
The State Historical-Cultural and Literary-Memorial Reserve-Museum of Abai “Zhidebay-Borili” is one of the largest museums in Kazakhstan, which was founded in 1940. The museum’s funds include more than 21 thousand exhibits, the scientific library of the museum stores more than 16 thousand publications. The most valuable and important of them are presented in the museum’s exhibitions. On the territory of the museum there is also a madrasah where Abai Kunanbayev used to study. The madrasah building was restored 25 years ago.
Students were presented with information about the history of the museum. Today it is a modern building, equipped with everything necessary: touch screens are installed everywhere, and in the music room, visitors can even hear the sounds of the instruments on display. Touch screens are also installed in each of the halls. The visitors were presented with exhibits that Abai himself had donated to the city’s local history museum during his lifetime. The students saw and heard Abai’s words of edification.
Students of the 5207 curatorial group received a lot of interesting and useful information for themselves by visiting the literary and memorial reserve-museum of Abai “Zhidebay-Borili” in Semey. At the end of the excursion, the students thanked the guide for the informative and interesting information about the facts of the biography of great personalities – Abai, Shakarim, Mukhtar Auezov.
