Round table in the House of Students №1 on the topic “HIV infection. AIDS.”

According to the plan of events in Students’ Houses, approved by the vice-rector at the beginning of the academic year, on December 16, in the House of Students No. 1, the staff of the Department of Children’s Infectious Diseases Mansurova A.A., Dalelkanova T.D. and Bitimirov S.N., under the leadership of the head of the department Efendiyev I.M., held a round table on the topic “HIV infection. AIDS.”

HIV remains one of the main global health problems: to date, this virus has claimed more than 40 million lives, and transmission continues worldwide. There is no cure for HIV infection. However, as access to effective means of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care has expanded, HIV infection has moved into the category of controlled chronic diseases, and HIV-infected people can live a long and healthy life. Assistant of the department Bitimirov S.N. presented a report to the students, in which he focused on the ways of infection, the mechanism of development, clinic, therapy, and methods of HIV infection prevention. During the discussion, students expressed their opinions and asked questions about the topic of the event.

To consolidate the material, assistants Mansurova A.A. and Dalelkanova T.D. conducted a quiz on the Kahoot platform. Sweet gifts were presented to the winners. In conclusion, the students gave feedback and thanked the organizers of the round table.
