Psychoeducation of the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology

Did you know that colors can not only affect our perception, but also change our mood, improve memory and attention, and even increase blood pressure? The psychology of color is just studying the influence of each of the colors on us, because knowing about their meaning is a sure step towards understanding people. It is on this basis that the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology conducts psychoeducation and educational activities.

February 24 for the “Club of Connoisseurs of Beauty” of the Museum of Fine Arts named after Nevzorova, an assistant of the department, Ph.D. Sarsembina Zhannat Dzhumazhanovna, held a seminar-lecture “Psychology of color”. What are our color preferences based on? Why do we like certain colors? Art therapy is a separate but related field of applied psychology. It comes from the psychoanalytic theories of the 1970s, which argued that some of our emotions and experiences can be expressed not only in words, but also in images and colors. One area where color psychology can be useful for art therapists is to assess what certain colors mean to clients when they use them to create works of art. Even not using color can be an important detail in art therapy, as people struggling with depression tend to use less color when painting. It is also suggested that by focusing on the use of color rather than the resulting image created by the customer, you can avoid customers worrying about producing a “good” product and focus more on what the colors used mean to them in order to start a dialogue about their feelings.

Various scientific theories of color psychology were presented to the audience, and practical recommendations were given from the perspective of physiology, neurophysiology, psychology, and communication skills. During the discussions and discussions, the lecturer answered questions, conducted several tests and trainings.[/vc_column_text]
