“Corruption, Offences and Accountability”

Corruption as a social phenomenon continues to exist today in virtually all countries of the world regardless of political development, including Kazakhstan, differing only in scale. Corruption hinders the process of socio-economic development, construction of market economy, attraction of investments. It has a negative impact on the political and social institutions of a democratic state and poses a serious threat to the future development of the country. The fight against corruption has been identified as one of the main priorities of State policy in Kazakhstan.

In order to improve the legal culture of young people on 09 April 2024, a lecture on “Corruption, offences and responsibility” was held with the participation of representatives of law enforcement agencies of the Abay region. The lecture was opened by the moderator of the “School of good order” NCJSC SMU senior lecturer of the Department of General education Muzdybaeva T A., who introduced the goals and objectives of the event, voiced the importance and significance of anti-corruption policy pursued by the Head of State K.J. Tokayev.

The reports were made by the head of the organisational and control department of the Department of Economic Investigations of the Abai region A.M. Ksanov, the head of the economic department of the Abai region M.E. Namazakova, an operative commissioner for especially important cases of the organisational and control department of the Department of Investigations, and O.E. Imonmadiev, a police captain of the Abai region of the Department for Combating Extremism.

At the end of the event, the organizing committee noted the high activity and interest shown in this conference by the students of our university.
