On April 22, 2024, the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology at the Literary Memorial Museum of Dostoevsky held a round table on the topic “Creative therapy with the aim of influencing the psychoemotional state of the patient.” This event was held as part of the educational and methodological work.
Participants: residents specializing in adult and children’s psychiatry, interns of the GP, students of the electro-technical college, agro-college with the active assistance of a specialist in the sector of extracurricular mass work, Master of Philology and teacher psychologist Rybchenko-Demyanenko E.S.
Welcoming remarks to the students were made by: head of the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology, PhD Moldagaliev T.M., assistant of the department Almagambetova A.A., residents of 1 and 2 years of study.
In their speech, they introduced the students to the full information on the effectiveness of art therapy for students: reducing depression, improving social adaptation and quality of life. The creative process in art therapy helps students become more aware and express their emotions, which improves their mental health and interpersonal relationships. Artistic expression allows students to recuperate and feel better, especially during periods of high stress and tension. Kelsov A.N., a 2-year resident, presented a presentation that art therapy improves cognitive functions; self-esteem increases, anxiety decreases; communication abilities develop, interpersonal relationships improve. The assistant of the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology conducted a practical psychotherapeutic training to improve the psycho-emotional state and positive attitude.
Residents, interns and students received information that art therapy is the best means of preventing depression and recovering from stress. The students showed interest and actively asked questions.
