May 5th – World Hand Hygiene Day

May 5th – World Hand Hygiene Day

Every year, World Hand Hygiene Day is celebrated on May 5th. The World Health Organization (WHO) has launched a global awareness campaign to raise awareness of the importance of clean hands to save lives.

Hands play a significant role in the spread of pathogens! Bacteria and viruses are dangerous: for some people it is an asymptomatic infection, but for others it is a fatal risk. It is important not only for healthcare workers, but also for each of us to practice good hand hygiene to prevent the spread of infection and protect people at risk from serious complications of infection.

For the purpose of prevention and awareness among young people, on May 3, 2024, under the leadership of curators Murtazina D.D., Sydykova K.T. and students of the supervisory groups of the Department of Biochemistry and Chemical Disciplines named after Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Tapbergenov S.O. a conversation was held dedicated to this day.

World Hand Hygiene Day is intended not only to remind you of the need to wash your hands, but also the basic rules, failure to comply with which reduces the effectiveness of this procedure to zero. Remember, clean hands are the key to your health!
