On 05/13/2024, a curatorial hour was held at the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology on the topic: “Improvement of legal literacy and prevention of offenses (“Protection of the rights of minors”, “Human rights”). Participants: the 5108th curatorial group.
The assistant of the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology, curator Almagambetova A.A. made a welcoming speech to the 5th year students of Semey Medical University. In her speech, she highlighted that the main purpose of the event was to form students’ understanding of legal literacy and crime prevention.
The task of forming legal literacy is to assimilate the basic principles and orientation of legal norms by each student, to develop the right legal orientation, to acquire not only knowledge of the basics of legislation, but also to form a deep respect for the law, which turns into a personal conviction, need and habit to comply with the law.
The main objectives of the crime prevention system are: reducing the number of offenses committed by students; protecting the rights of minors, conditions for the formation of decent life prospects; educating students in the spirit of law and order.
Students are given the concept of human rights and the protection of the rights of minors. They were introduced to the prevention of human rights violations and the reduction of the negative impact of misconduct, as well as the elimination of the causes and conditions contributing to its occurrence.
The students actively engaged in discussions, held a free-form discussion and asked questions. At the end of the meeting, the students noted that they had gained knowledge about legal literacy and the assimilation of values.
