On May 23, 2024, a seminar was held for practical healthcare doctors on the topic: «Sepsis in pediatric practice»
Assistant of the Department of Propaedeutics of Children’s Diseases Tugelbayeva A.M. made a presentation. She was pleased to share new information on the diagnosis of sepsis in children with the staff of the department and anesthesiologists-resuscitators of the ICU department of the NCJSC «SMU»
Comprehensive regression models for predicting mortality in children with suspected infection were derived and tested using the best performing organ dysfunction subscales of the 8 existing scores. The final model was then converted to an integer score used to establish binary criteria for sepsis and septic shock.
The new Phoenix Sepsis Criteria, which were derived and validated using data from higher and lower resource countries, improved the diagnostic performance of pediatric sepsis and septic shock compared with the existing IPSCC criteria.
At the end of the seminar, participants received answers to all their questions.
