On October 2, 2024, the Department of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at the NСJSC “SMU” organized an “Open Day” dedicated to Teacher’s Day—a meeting with outstanding doctors for undergraduate, internship, and residency students. It is well known that behind every great individual, talented genius, or brave leader stands their teacher. The knowledge a teacher imparts to their student paves the way to greatness. Today, society tasks the teaching community with current challenges such as fostering academic integrity and encouraging honest work among students. In this regard, it is fitting to name the teachers of our department, who make every effort to connect their students’ knowledge with the noble profession of medicine.

The event opened with a welcoming speech from the Head of the Department, A. Sh. Kaskabayeva. Attendees were presented with a presentation on the history of the department from its founding to the present day. Students had the opportunity to meet and converse with the honored professor and the “Legend” of our university, Raifa Latyfovna Ivanova, as well as with Professor Zaurezh Kenzhekhanovna Zhumadilova, and the department’s associate professors R.I. Alibekova, T.Kh. Rymbayeva, and T.E. Shakhanov. The event sparked keen interest among students, who expressed their gratitude for the informative and motivating interaction.

The department’s event coincided with the Day of the Elderly and International Doctor’s Day. Head of the department Kaskabayeva A. Sh. congratulated everyone on the occasion, wished them long life, and thanked them for their active participation in the department’s activities.
