On 10/15/2024, the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology, while on duty at the House No. 4 of students, held a round table on the topic “Formation of stress tolerance through socio-psychological training”.

Organizers: assistant of the department Almagambetova A.A. (curator 3513 of the GM group), Yelisinova A.M. PhD, Acting Associate Professor of the Department of Neurology, Ophthalmology and Otorhinolaryngology (curator 5106 of the GM group),

Participants: 1,2,3,4,5 GM courses, pediatrics.

The main purpose of the round table was to teach the students of  SMU to adapt to life difficulties while maintaining mental balance.

Welcoming remarks to the students of 1,2,3,4,5 courses of GM and pediatrics of Semey Medical University were made by: assistant of the Department Almagambetova A.A., where she highlighted the problems of preserving students’ social values, especially in conditions of the need for psychological resistance to stress. It was emphasized that the level of stress tolerance is a key factor in maintaining health. The stress resistance of the environment preserves the efficiency and emotional balance of students even in difficult situations. Sources of stress, both external and internal, have a devastating effect on the body, which could lead to insomnia, irritability, depression and neuroses.

Socio-psychological training in order to form stress resistance was conducted by students of 3513 and 5106 GM groups, where it was also discussed how to prevent the negative consequences of stressful influences, how to quickly and effectively get rid of psycho-emotional stresses. The participants noted the effectiveness of the conducted socio-psychological training in order to increase the development of stress tolerance, since the skills of self-knowledge, communication and interaction in a group are being developed.

The training helped the participants to master socio-psychological methods that contributed to the development of communication skills and self-reflection. Thanks to group interaction, the students of  SMU were able to adapt to different situations, which led to an increase in their stress tolerance and social stability
