On October 17-18, 2024, Shymkent hosted the XI International scientific conference of young scientists and students “Prospects for the development of biology, Medicine and Pharmacy”, organized by the Science Council at the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation and the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy. 4th year students of the specialty “Pediatrics” Zhanibekova Aynur and Serdalina Adiya, under the guidance of associate professor S.B. Maukayeva, participated in the section “Modern challenges and innovative approaches in the fight against infectious diseases” with the report “Echinococcosis. Clinical cases”. The report caused a heated discussion and was highly appreciated by the jury. Our students took the honorable second place along with doctoral students, undergraduates, residents and students. The conference has become an important platform for the exchange of experience between young scientists and researchers, as well as the discussion of promising areas in the field of medicine and biology. The participants discussed modern approaches to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infectious diseases, as well as established useful scientific contacts.
