On October 21, 2024, the assistants of the “Urology” discipline, along with fourth-year students from the medical faculty, held an informational session dedicated to the upcoming holiday “Republic Day.” The history of this holiday is connected to the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Kazakh SSR within the Soviet Union on October 25, 1990. The document, adopted by the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR, was not just an expression of the people’s will, but also a legal confirmation of the republic’s autonomy, albeit within the framework of the Soviet Union. This event marked the starting point for the official independence of Kazakhstan in 1991. By accepting it, Kazakhstan took the first step towards declaring its independence.
