The date of October 25 was chosen not by chance: it was on this day in 1990 by the decision of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR № 307-XII was adopted the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Kazakh SSR. On July 16, 2022, at the National Kurultai, Kazakh President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev proposed to return the status of a national holiday to Republic Day. “Republic Day should become a symbol of the country’s bold step towards statehood.
