Currently, Semey Medical University is hosting a visiting professor of Sechenov University Kerim Mutig. He is a professor of the Pharmacology Department of the A.P. Nelyubin Institute of Pharmacy. As part of his work program, the Department of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology held classes with students of group 4422 of the General Medicine specialty (аssistant Botabaeva A.S.) and group 454 of the Foreign Department (Associate Professor Muzdubaeva Zh.E.) on the topic of “Chronic tubulointerstitial nephritis”. Using the principle of vertical integration of disciplines, the study of the topic began with an analysis of the fundamental principles of kidney anatomy and physiology. Clinical features of the disease and principles of its treatment are presented on the basis of knowledge of basic disciplines. Students noted that understanding the pathophysiological mechanism of development of each clinical symptom logically leads to an understanding of the methods of treating the disease. The classes were very interesting, positive feedback was received from the students. These visiting professor programs facilitate the integration of educational programs of various medical institutions and the improvement of the educational process at the university.
