An online meeting of student scientific circles on public health of medical universities of Semey and Astana was held today. The organizers of this meeting were from the NCJSC AMU, the head of the SSC Baigenzheeva Raushan Kuzhatovna and from the NCJSC SMU, the head of the SSC Iskakova Nazym Serikanovna. The central topic of discussion was “The effectiveness of the vaccine against human papillomavirus (HPV) depending on age.” The meeting brought together future doctors, young scientists and teachers interested in the problems of cancer prevention.
During the meeting, the students discussed the latest research on the impact of age on the effectiveness of HPV vaccination, which is the main risk factor for cervical cancer. In particular, it was emphasized that vaccination at an early age, before the onset of sexual activity, demonstrates the greatest effectiveness. These data showed that the immune response to the vaccine in adolescents is significantly higher than in adults, which significantly reduces the risk of infection and the development of malignant neoplasms in the future.
In addition, the students presented data on the current situation in Kazakhstan and discussed strategies to increase vaccination coverage. Questions were raised about the availability of the vaccine, as well as the need to educate the population to form a positive attitude towards preventive measures.
Following the meeting, initiatives were proposed for joint educational projects and conferences. The participants expressed confidence that such meetings help to form a scientific approach and critical thinking among young professionals, as well as contribute to the development of preventive medicine in Kazakhstan.
