Interuniversity discussion platform “Higher Medical Education”

In October 2024, 3 leading medical universities of the country NAO “Astana Medical University”, NAO “Semey Medical University” and South Kazakhstan Medical Academy created an interuniversity discussion platform for students “Higher Medical Education”. The organizer of the NAO “MUS” was the Department of Infectious Diseases, Dermatovenerologists and Immunology and the Department of Public Health. The responsible persons from these departments are S.B. Maukaeva, Z.A. Khismetova and N.S. Iskakova.. The purpose of the discussion platform is to organize cooperation between participating universities to share experiences and improve the quality of medical education. The new platform is designed to become a center for the exchange of opinions, ideas and experiences between students of different universities, contributing to their professional, intellectual and cultural development. The discussion platform will combine thematic sessions, round tables, debates, master classes and scientific discussions. Special attention will be paid to:

  • Current issues in the field of medicine, science and education.
  • Development of leadership and research skills.
  • Cultural exchange and strengthening of inter-regional ties.
  • Events will be held both offline and using online platforms to ensure student participation regardless of their location.

Benefits for students:

  • Share your research and projects.
  • Receive feedback from experts and peers.
  • Establish contacts with future colleagues and like-minded people.
  • Develop critical thinking and public speaking skills.

The prospects

The initiators of the project believe that the discussion platform will be an important step towards creating an open space for student activity, which in the future may grow into a full-fledged interuniversity network of professional interaction.

To date, 2 discussions have been held on the topic “The effectiveness of the vaccine against papillomavirus depending on age” and “Antibiotic resistance is a global public health problem”.
