The formation of research competencies among students is one of the urgent tasks of the educational activities of teachers of the medical University. Members of the student scientific circle “Information Technologies in Medical Research” under the guidance of teachers of the Department of General Education continue to participate in the International Student Scientific Society (ISSS) “Information Technologies for the Digital Transformation of Medical Education, Medical Science and Telemedicine”, operating on the basis of Ural State Medical University (Yekaterinburg, Russian Federation).

On December 17, 2024, Kasenov A., Nurasyl N., 1st year undergraduate students of the EP “Medicine” NCJSC “Semey Medical University” took part in the regular meeting of the International Council of Higher Education. Amir Kasenov made a presentation on the topic: “Mobile applications for emergency care and diagnostics”. The student’s research work is conducted under the guidance of Musataeva I.S., Candidate of  Pedagogical Sciences, Acting Associate Professor of the Department of General Education Disciplines. Nurasyl Nurzhailau made a presentation on the topic “Neural networks for calculating the probability of developing lung diseases.” Scientific supervisor: Galymova A.D., Master of Natural Sciences, lecturer at the Department of Public Educational Institution of the National Academy of Sciences “Semey Medical University”.

The meeting participants paid special attention to the relevance and practical significance of scientific research. Scientific research is at an early stage and has a promising continuation. During the meeting, there was an active discussion of reports with a number of questions and recommendations from experts and other participants. We are confident that such an experience of students’ participation in international scientific events contributes to the development of scientific thinking of future digital physicians.
