Sepsis is one of the most common causes of death worldwide. According to WHO, 48.9 million cases of sepsis and 11 million sepsis-related deaths have been reported, accounting for 20% of all deaths worldwide. It is estimated that for every thousand hospitalized patients, there are 15 people who develop sepsis as a complication in receiving medical care. On January 28, the interdisciplinary seminar “Sepsis. Septic shock” was held. The seminar was organized and moderated by Associate Professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Dermatovenerology and Immunology S.B. Maukayeva, assistant of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Dermatovenerology and Immunology J.B. Issabekova, assistants of the Department of Hospital Surgery, Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine M.T. Orazgaliyeva, S.V. Alpishcheva. The seminar participants were bachelors 5215, 5216, 5242, 5246, 5350, 5411, 5426 groups, interns of the 6course, residents-anesthesiologists. The issues of sepsis in infectious diseases, diagnosis and treatment of septic shock were highlighted. A clinical case was presented.
