On February 10, 2025, a consultation was held at the NAO “Semey Medical University” for third-year students preparing for the first stage of the National Center for Independent Examination (NCIE). The event was attended by students from the faculties of General Medicine, Pediatrics, and Dentistry.

Lectures were delivered by the Head of the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Asel Zhanartasovna Baibusinova, and Senior Lecturer of the Department, Gulbarshyn Darynkzy Mukasheva.

The consultation covered important topics:

• Research Design – main types, selection of the optimal method;
• Measures of Association in Epidemiological Studies – relative risk, odds ratio, and other indicators.

At the end, students discussed sample test questions, which allowed them to better understand the structure of exam questions and prepare for the NCIE exam.
