A regular meeting of the student scientific society “Molecular Genetics Researchers” was held at the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics named after Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan T.K. Raissov. The meeting was held in a round table format. The meeting of the society was attended by the head of the department, associate professor Orazalina A.S., the head of the student scientific society – PhD, the teacher of the department Rakhimgalieva P.S., the head of the student scientific society – 2nd year student of the OP “Medicine” Aniya Cherubaeva. 1st and 2nd year students and teachers of the department took part in the work of the scientific society.
The head of the department, candidate of biological sciences, associate professor Orazalina A.S. gave a speech: “Dear students, we are always glad to see you in the student scientific society. Welcome to the research club of the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics named after Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan T.K. Raissov.” Students’ scientific work is one of the main directions in the learning process, contributing to the development of the student’s professional qualities. The beginning of the scientific activity of a medical university student, as a rule, is a student scientific club, in which the student receives the first experience of research, analytical, creative work, combining the possibilities of practical application of theoretical knowledge. She spoke about the achievements of the clubs and the active work of students. Students of our scientific society participate in various conferences: intra-university, inter-university, and also take prizes in international conferences at various levels, such as Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan.
Our department and teachers, as scientific supervisors of scientific work, always support, help students, teach the basics and methods of scientific research, listen to reports and discuss the results of scientific work and further development of skills after conferences. Ainash Saparovna thanked each student for their interest in science and desire for self-improvement. She noted that for a competitive and professional doctor it is very important to have a knowledge base and always be up to date.
The report was made by the Chairman of the students scientific club, Aniya Cherubaeva Aniya, a 2nd year student of the “Medicine” specialty, who spoke about the main forms of participation in the conference: publication of abstracts + oral report (duration – no more than 7 minutes); oral report only; publication of abstracts only; poster presentation. Aniya provided information on the number of students who can study the same topic, as well as on the selection and communication with the supervisor. Nurasyl Assabayev and Asker Akku talked about their experiences, how to behave correctly in speech, about the elements used during the presentation, and also noted that any experience is the development, knowledge, and learning of new skills. The meeting was concluded by the responsible teacher Rakhimgalieva P.S., who told how the meetings of the scientific club are held in various organizational forms. At the meetings of the scientific club, further scientific activities of the members of the club are planned, a report on the work done, preparation of the members of the scientific club for scientific conferences of various levels, etc. Later, some of our graduates choose a scientific field for themselves and successfully defend their dissertations. Pakizat Sarmanovna thanked the students for their active participation in the work of the club. All participants of the meeting asked questions and took an active part in the discussion.
