The meeting of the participants of the student scientific circle Neurology club, together with the participants of the neurosurgeons club “Dandy”, was held at the university hospital nn 11.02.2025. The meeting was attended by students of all levels.

The first to speak was third-year student Keulimzhaev Ramazan on the topic: Neuroprostheses and Brain-Computer Interfaces. Possibilities of their application in neurorehabilitation. The possibilities of using neuroprostheses in post-stroke, post-traumatic rehabilitation were covered. Students learned about the latest developments for the treatment of various forms of central paresis, ataxia and even aphasia.

Next, a report was heard from 3rd year student Daniyar Tuleubaev on the possibilities of using neurostimulators. Neurostimulators are widely used to treat neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, and various forms of hyperkinesis. Operations to install neurostimulators are actively carried out, including in Kazakhstan.

At the end of the meeting, the participants discussed the possible risks of using neural interfaces. The main questions of students that arose during the course of their scientific work were also discussed.
