Yesterday, the curator of group 3525, assistant Professor of the Department of Propaedeutics of Children Diseases, A.A. Shakirova, organized and conducted a curatorial hour dedicated to the topical topic of ludomania. This disease, related to gambling addiction, is becoming more common in the modern world, especially among young people. The purpose of the event is to draw students’ attention to the problem and help them understand the risks associated with gambling. During the meeting, the curator spoke about the causes of ludomania, its consequences for mental and physical health, as well as for financial well-being. The students actively participated in the discussion, asked questions and shared their opinions. Special emphasis was placed on how to recognize the first signs of addiction and where to seek help. «It is important to understand that ludomania is not just a hobby, but a serious disease that can destroy a person’s life. Our task is to warn and help those who have already faced this problem», said the curator. At the end of the event, the students received useful materials with contacts of organizations providing support to people suffering from gambling addiction. Such a curatorial hour was an important step in raising students’ awareness of the problem of ludomania and its prevention.
