In order to develop students’ creative abilities and improve their educational level in the field of general hygiene, the intra-university Olympiad on general hygiene was held on February 14, 2025. This event was attended by students of the specialties “Medical and preventive medicine”, “Public Health”, “Public health”.
The Olympiad included two rounds: the first round was testing, which was conducted through the Google Forms platform. According to the results of the first round, 3 teams were formed (“Hygiene”, “Hygiene Experts” and “Nitrates”).
The second round of the Olympiad included 3 stages: stage 1 – a blitz survey; stage 2 – an assessment of practical skills and stage 3 – a “CS-case-study”. According to the members of the Olympiad jury, the team members demonstrated a fairly high level of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, the ability to work in a team, as well as creative abilities.
The Hygiene team was recognized as the winner of the Olympiad, the Hygiene Experts team took the 2nd place and the Nitrates team took the 3rd place. All participants of the Olympiad received certificates and sweet treats, the winners were awarded with diplomas.
Conducting subject Olympiads contributes to the development of professional competencies of students of the specialties “Medical and preventive medicine”, “Public health” and “Public health”, which is necessary for subsequent independent work in the field of health protection and sanitary and epidemiological welfare of the population.
