“LUDOMANIA IN MODERN SOCIETY”

“LUDOMANIA IN MODERN SOCIETY”

on 18th of February 2025 was held a discussion with group 436 of the foreign students.

Aim: To raise awareness among students about the problem of ludomania (gambling addiction), to study its socio-psychological aspects, and to discuss prevention methods and opportunities to help people suffering from this addiction.

Assistant Tugelbayeva A.M. told about how ludomania is formed on the basis of cognitive and emotional distortions caused by gambling. The negative consequences for the social and family life of addicts were discussed. Students noted that people suffering from gambling addiction often lose social connections, destroy relationships with loved ones, experience financial difficulties and fall into debt addiction.

As a result of the round table, the students learned about the key aspects of the problem of gambling addiction, which affects more and more people, especially in the context of the availability of gambling and online gambling. The students gained a deeper understanding of how gambling addiction develops, what psychological mechanisms underlie it and what social and personal consequences it can have.

We express special gratitude to

Group 436 “General Medicine”
