1 March – Thanksgiving Day. Department of Psychiatry and Narcology

On February 24, 2025, Assistant of the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology, A.A. Almagambetova, together with the 5th-year students of group 5319 and the curator group 3513 OM, organized an event on the topic “1 March – Thanksgiving Day”. The event was attended by the Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology of Semey Medical University, T.M. Moldagaliev, and Assistant of the Department, A.A. Almagambetova. Thanksgiving Day in Kazakhstan is celebrated on March 1. This holiday was established in 2016 to recognize the contribution of all peoples living in Kazakhstan to the development of the country. It symbolizes gratitude for peace, harmony, and unity among ethnic groups, as well as the strengthening of interethnic harmony and friendship. During the event, traditional music was played on the dombra, and poetry was recited, creating a special atmosphere and adding a musical and literary element to the overall mood of the meeting. At the end of the event, everyone expressed their gratitude to one another, symbolizing thankfulness and fond memories of the meeting. Students received a positive attitude, knowledge, and an understanding of the importance of mutual understanding, which impacts mental health, strengthens relationships in society, and contributes to the creation of a more harmonious social environment.
