On February 25-26, 2025, a meeting was held between the Vice-Rector for Academic and Educational Work of NAO “MUS” Smailova Zhanargul Kaiyrgalievna and students of the 2nd-5th years of the School of Public Health, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Nursing. During the event, Smailova Zh.K. focused on several key points in the academic life of students.
First of all, she reminded that students are the face of the university, and their appearance and behavior must meet certain standards both inside and outside the educational institution. Compliance with moral and ethical standards and maintaining a neat appearance contribute to the formation of a positive image of students and the university as a whole.
Zhanargul Kaiyrgalievna also reported that the university recently became a member of the League of Academic Integrity, which imposes additional obligations on students to comply with the principles of honesty in education. The Vice-Rector for Academic and Educational Work emphasized that any form of fraud, manipulation or corruption, such as the purchase of exam tests for sessions and state certification, are unacceptable. She urged students not to succumb to such offers and, if they are received, to immediately contact schools (the dean’s office) or the university security service.
The topic of false applications for transfer to a vacant educational grant was raised separately. The vice-rector explained that such a transfer is possible only if there are vacancies and exclusively on a competitive basis. The transfer can be received by students with high results (GPA), and this process is regulated by the law of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the internal regulations of the university. All offers to sell grants are false. If they are received, it is necessary to immediately report them to schools or the security service.
Particular attention was paid to third-year students in the Dentistry educational program, who will soon take the External Assessment of Academic Achievements (EAAA). The Vice-Rector urged students to actively prepare for exams and attend consultations on disciplines.
Zhanargul Kaiyrgalievna noted that violation of academic honesty can entail serious consequences, such as a severe reprimand or expulsion without the right to reinstatement. At the end of the meeting, she emphasized that an honest and responsible approach to learning, striving for high results are the key not only to successful learning, but also to the formation of a positive image of the university.
