Lecture “Tolerance is the basis of interethnic harmony”

On 02/27/2025, a lecture “Tolerance is the basis of interethnic harmony” was held for 1st year students of all educational programs. The lecture was conducted by Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, senior lecturer of the Department of General Education Disciplines Aigul Gabidenovna Gizatullina.

Currently, interethnic relations, national isolation, and separatism are an acute problem in the Republic of Kazakhstan, which in turn creates social instability, and the need for solidarity, interethnic unity, and cohesion is becoming more urgent. In a situation of social imbalance, society and especially young people begin to exaggerate the positive difference between their ethnic group and others, which in turn can provoke an increase in interethnic tension.

Therefore, the event was aimed primarily at developing interethnic tolerance among young people.

The lecture “Tolerance is the basis of interethnic harmony” contributed to the development of ethno–cultural competence among first-year students; tasks were solved not so much of an educational nature as of an educational nature, namely:

– development of students’ ability to understand life situations from the point of view of representatives of another ethnic group, to see the world from the perspective of another culture;

– development of constructive intercultural dialogue skills;

– reducing anxiety in intercultural interaction, as well as the level of conflict and aggressive behavior of students;

– development of mutual understanding skills in the context of increased ethnic prejudice and group discrimination;

– modeling positive behavior in situations of intercultural interaction.

Such educational activities conducted within the walls of the NCJSC “MUS” allow students to prepare their perception of possible life negative situations on national grounds and find ways to resolve them positively.
