Class hour on the topics of “Ludomania” and “Opium addiction”

On February 18, 2025, curator Bukataeva A.B. held a curatorial hour for the groups 1133 “General Medicine” and 1306 “Dentistry,” dedicated to the important and relevant topic of “Gambling Addiction” and “Opioid Addiction.” The aim of the event was to familiarize the students with the basic concepts, characteristics, and consequences of these addictions.

During the event, various aspects of the behavior of people suffering from addictions, such as gambling and drug dependence, were discussed, as well as methods of assistance and treatment for such individuals. Special attention was given to the prevention of gambling addiction, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and the prevention of opioid dependence.

Gambling addiction, as a mental disorder, is characterized by a pathological urge to engage in gambling, often leading to serious personal and social consequences. Opioid addiction is related to the use of opiates, which causes physical and psychological dependence, leading to destructive effects on health and quality of life.

The event contributed to raising awareness among students about these issues and provided them with knowledge about the importance of prevention and methods of addiction treatment.
