On March 3, 2025, teacher of the Department of Public Health Atabaeva A.K. together with the curatorial group 5246 held a curatorial hour on the topic “Sustainable Development Goals”. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are globally accepted goals aimed at eliminating poverty and misery, fighting inequality and injustice, as well as protecting the planet and ensuring peace and prosperity for all people. Up to 2030, 17 key areas have been selected, the realization of which could potentially lead the country to sustainable development of all major spheres of life and solve global problems affecting every person in this world.
The process of realization and achievement of the SDGs is constantly monitored by both UN representatives and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. For effective achievement of the SDGs, the Interagency and Expert Group on Sustainable Development Goal Indicators (IEG – SDGs) developed a system of global indicators, with the possibility for each UN member state to nationalize these indicators. To date, Kazakhstan’s monitoring system for the achievement of the SDGs includes 280 indicators, of which 205 are global and 75 national indicators. The curatorial hour was held in the form of a conversation, students asked questions of interest to them.
