February 14, 2025 at the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases held a seminar on “Viral intestinal infections in children”.
The seminar was attended by doctors – pediatric infectious disease specialists of the regional center of phthisiopulmonology, residents – infectious disease specialists, interns – GP, as well as students of the 4th year of the specialty of general medicine.
Intestinal infections occupy the second place among all infectious diseases. They mainly enter the body through contaminated water, food, as well as through direct contact with the patient. The cause of pathology can be viruses or pathogenic bacteria. According to scientific data, 50-70% of Acute intestinal infections (AII) are caused by viral agents such as rotaviruses, adenoviruses, enteroviruses, picornaviruses, noroviruses, astroviruses and other representatives. The most widespread AII is rotavirus infection.
The assistant of the department Dalelkanova T.D., made a report “Viral intestinal infections in children”. She paid special attention to the role of rotavirus infections in young children, and also drew the attention of the listeners to the evaluation and treatment of dehydration in children according to the WHO IMCI program.
In conclusion, the seminar participants asked questions and thanked the organizers of the event. The total number of listeners was 49.
