In the medium-term Strategic Development Plan of the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2025, the Government of the country has identified the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as an important guideline, where the third goal is the good health and well-being of the population. Gender equality is an important aspect of sustainable health development. It promotes equitable access to health services, improves the working conditions of health workers, and improves the quality of medical care for all.
One of the symbols of the struggle for equal rights is International Women’s Day, which is celebrated on March 8. This holiday originated more than a century ago as a day of women’s solidarity in the struggle for their rights, including the right to decent working conditions and equal access to education and healthcare. Today, March 8 reminds of the importance of gender equality, including in the field of healthcare, where it contributes to the well-being of society as a whole.
