As part of educational activities at the Department of Propaedeutics of Childhood Diseases, assistant Koishybaeva K.Zh. organized a teaching internship in group 3430, specialty “Pediatrics” in the discipline “Propaedeutics of Childhood Diseases”, applied the peer-to-peer teaching method on the topic: “Optimization of feeding children in the first year of life.” The mentors were students of group 4101, studying in the specialty “Pediatrics” – Bayan Anuarbekova and Aruzhan Asylbekova, who have already mastered this topic and can share their knowledge with junior students. Peer education is determined by the psychological characteristics of the student’s age, namely the importance for the student of communication with peers who know and understand their interests, needs, and aspirations well. For mentors, the main goal is to develop leadership qualities, teamwork skills, communication skills, the basics of pedagogical activity, and the development of volunteer activities.
During the analysis of the topic, the mentors used presentations, case studies, and solving MSQ tests. To master the practical part of the lesson, they used skills in consulting a mother on breastfeeding.
Assistant Koishybaeva K.Zh. made adjustments during the lesson and summed up the material covered at the end.
This teaching method creates a more equal atmosphere and encourages an innovative approach to learning.
