On March 12, 2025, under the guidance of teachers of the Department of Public Health of the NCJSC “SMU” – Samarova U.S., Iskakova A.M., Iskakova N.S. and Kairatova G.K. – students of the specialties “Public Health” and “Dentistry” took part in a volunteer action, visiting the Mother and Child Home.

The purpose of the event is to draw students’ attention to volunteering, develop social responsibility and empathy, and support women and children in need.

A mother and child home is a government institution of a closed type, subordinate to the health authorities. It provides temporary shelter for pregnant women and young mothers with newborns who find themselves in difficult life circumstances. Here they are helped to adapt to motherhood, get an education or profession, find a job, and also assist in the placement of a child in children’s institutions.

As part of the campaign, the teachers provided hygiene products and soap detergents necessary for caring for babies and maintaining cleanliness.

As a result of the campaign, students not only gained valuable volunteering experience, but also strengthened their motivation for charity, developed positive thinking and increased their level of empathy.
