On March 12, the Department of Neurology, Ophthalmology, and Otorhinolaryngology organized a career guidance session for medical interns interested in specializing in ophthalmology. The event, hosted at the ASTANA VISION Clinic in Semey.

Attendees gained insights into the daily responsibilities of ophthalmologists, emerging priorities in the specialty, and promising career and employment opportunities. A key highlight was the discussion on training opportunities across five clinical bases in Semey, Ust-Kamenogorsk, and Pavlodar, as well as academic mobility programs enabling interns to broaden their expertise.

The session sparked lively discussions, with interns particularly curious about the structure of training, hands-on clinical practice access, and the scope of duties during night shifts. Current residents specializing in Adult and Pediatric Ophthalmology enthusiastically shared personal experiences, shedding light on the profession’s nuances and pathways for professional growth.

All questions from the interns were addressed, revealing their strong enthusiasm for the specialty. To foster ongoing communication, department assistants shared personal contact details, ensuring future collaboration between candidates and faculty.
