From March 11 to March 13, 2025, students of the NCJSC “SMU” Yerlanuly Yerzhan, Moldabayeva Aisha and Sakhariev Elnur took part in the “Medical Show & Innovation Jam”, which was held at the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Khoja Ahmed Yasawi in Turkestan.

The event brought together young innovators, entrepreneurs and experts in the field of medicine and technology. Our students presented their startup project “A pilot project for the introduction of behavioral interventions to reduce the improper disposal of medicines among the population of Semey” (2024-2025). The project’s scientific supervisor is Zaituna Abdulkasimovna Khismetova, c.m.s., professor, Head of the Department of Public Health at the NCJSC “SMU”. The project is aimed at developing and implementing effective methods of drug management, preventing environmental risks and raising public awareness about the proper disposal of pharmaceutical waste.

During the event, the participants presented their developments, exchanged experiences with leading experts and received valuable recommendations on the further development of their ideas. The exhibition of innovative medical technologies made it possible to get acquainted with advanced solutions that can change the approach to the treatment and diagnosis of diseases.

The performances of our students aroused great interest among students, experts and potential investors. Their ideas were noted for their relevance, creativity and scientific validity. Participation in such a prestigious event has become an important step for students in the development of their professional activities, opening up new prospects for the implementation of innovative projects.

The students express their sincere gratitude to A.A. Dyusupov, Rector of the NCJSC “SMU”, and D.M. Shabdarbayeva, Vice-rector for Research, for the opportunity to participate in the university’s startup projects.
