Nauryz is a holiday of renewal, spring awakening of nature and the beginning of the new year for many peoples of the East. He gives people an atmosphere of joy, unity and hope. The tradition of celebrating this holiday unites different states. In 2009, it was included by UNESCO in the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Mankind. There is a general rule: Nauryz invariably falls during the vernal equinox, which usually falls on March 20 or 21. Nauryz in Kazakhstan is not just a spring festival, it is a symbol of the beginning of a new life full of goodness and happiness, the name of the holiday means “new day”. This new day comes when the long-awaited warmth replaces the winter cold, the day lengthens, and the birds return from the southern regions to their nests. On this day, everyone greets each other with the words “Today!” (“Happy spring!’), as well as “Nauryz by meiramy kutty bolsyn! Ak mol bolsyn!” (‘Congratulations on Nauryz holiday! May there be abundance!’). Ancient traditions create such a mood throughout the country as a Kazakh wedding. On 03/20/2025, in order to popularize and familiarize interns with national rituals, explain the meaning of customs and traditions, as part of the celebration of Nauryz Meiramy at the Semey Department GMP of Semey of the NPJSC «MUS», the staff held an event together with interns-GP 606, 607, 610 groups for all students. Some traditions of the Kazakh people were shown:
1.Earrings are a tradition that has retained its meaning since the time of our ancestors.However, it has changed a little, like other customs. To begin with, it is worth remembering that our parents chose women for their sons themselves. After the parents of the future groom found a suitable man, they sent his representative from among the closest relatives to the parents ‘ house? After receiving his consent, he puts on an earring and leaves.
- Betashar is one of the most beautiful rituals in the traditional culture of Kazakhs. This is a ritual of introducing the bride to her family, relatives. Betashar symbolizes the entry of a young couple into a new family and literally translates as “face — anger”. Without conducting a” betashar”, the bride’s face is not shown to anyone.
3.Dance” Kara zhorga “-the Kazakh folk dance” Buk BI”, that is, the dance of the generation that has survived to this day.
- Nauryz bata is one of the types of blessings for Nauryz meiramy. Respected older women bless the one who treated them to Nauryz kozhe, or akyn, the winner of aitys, the musician, singer, wrestler they liked, as well as all the guests of toy, residents of the village. A blessing during a toyah is considered a good omen.
