“National Clothing Day at the Department of Surgical Disciplines”

On March 18, 2025, the faculty of the Urology discipline of the Department of Surgical Disciplines, together with the 4th-year students of groups GP 4120 and 4109, organized an event dedicated to the celebration of “National Clothing Day.”

Since last year, Nowruz has been celebrated in a new format. In Kazakhstan, it was proposed to celebrate Nowruz for 10 days, with each day having its own name. March 18 is celebrated as “National Clothing Day.”National clothing is an important part of national identity and a way of self-expression for a particular ethnic group. In their presentation, students provided detailed information on each aspect of national clothing, its practicality, and symbolic uniqueness. They explained the patterns and ornaments our ancestors used to decorate their clothing. Traditional Kazakh ornaments served as protective amulets in the past, bringing good luck and protecting from misfortune. These patterns carry deep meanings and signs that have come from ancient times. The head of the department M.T. Kuderbayev, expressed gratitude to the students for organizing the event: “Clothing, as a means of expressing our nomadic identity, should serve the traditions of peace and harmony among all Kazakhstanis,” he noted.
