Nurlan Kubaydollayevich Shaymardanov

Born in 1963, Kazakh, from a family of scientists.

In 1986 he graduated with honors from the Semipalatinsk Medical Institute, worked as a clinical resident, assistant, researcher, professor, head of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Semey State Medical University. In 1988 he defended his candidate’s thesis in Leningrad, in 1993 – his doctoral dissertation.

In 1991-92 he worked in Moscow at the Institute of Immunology, in 1992 he trained in Japan. In 1994, he was awarded the state prize “Daryn” by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A.Nazarbayev for merits in the development of medical science. In 1995, he was elected a corresponding member of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Kazakhstan on a competitive basis. In 1995 he was transferred to Almaty to the position of head of the Laboratory of Immunoradiology of the Almaty Medical Institute, since 1996 a member of the dissertation Council at the Kazakh State Medical University. In 1997 in the order of official transfer, he was appointed to the position of professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Semipalatinsk State Medical Academy. In 1997, he was elected by competition for 3 years as a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Science – Academy of Sciences for talented Young Scientists. He has repeatedly been the winner of grants from the Ministry of Science and New Technologies, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the head of various scientific, including international programs. He introduced the international program “CINDY” in his native university for the prevention of iodine deficiency conditions, iron deficiency anemia and others. In 2003, 2006 he was trained in English in Austria (Salzburg seminars on Infectious Diseases), 2010 in Israel (month) on topical issues of hepatology and gastroenterology.

He is engaged in the training of scientific and pedagogical personnel, 13 candidate’s and 1 doctoral dissertation have been prepared and successfully defended under his leadership. He has published 150 works, including 3 monographs.

Scientific works have received international recognition. In 1992-1996 he participated in international congresses, including in Germany and Japan. The results of the work were reported at the 8th and 9th World Congresses of Immunologists in Hungary and the USA. He speaks English, graduated in 1985 with honors from 2–year evening English courses at the Semipalatinsk Pedagogical Institute.

A doctor of the highest category. Since 1997 he worked as a professor, then since 2002 Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Semipalatinsk State Medical Academy. Advises severe and diagnostically unclear patients in the city infectious diseases hospital, where the clinical base of the department is located, and clinics of East Kazakhstan region. Shaimardanov N.K. introduced new methods of diagnosis and treatment of patients with infectious pathology into the practice of healthcare in East Kazakhstan region. In 2004, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan was awarded the badge “Kazakhstan Republikasy densaulyk Aktau isinin uzdigi”.

In 2003, he created an immunogenetic laboratory for the first time in the East Kazakhstan region, introduced since 2004 in Semey methods of PCR diagnostics of bacterial and viral infections. He has the first category of health care organizer in the specialty public health (2014).
