Shakhanov Tungyshkhan Egizkhanovich graduated from the Semipalatinsk Medical Institute in 1981. From 1981 to 1982, he worked as a senior laboratory assistant at the immunological laboratory of the Department of Hospital Therapy at the Semipalatinsk Medical Institute. In 1988, he entered the correspondence postgraduate program in the specialty “Internal Diseases” of the Semipalatinsk Medical Institute and defended his thesis in 1991 “Endobronchial laser therapy in the complex treatment of chronic bronchitis”. From this year he worked as an assistant in the department of hospital therapy. In 1996 he received the academic title of associate professor.
In 1997, he worked as the chief specialist of the Committee on the Elimination of the Impact of the Semipalatinsk Nuclear Test Site, and participated in the drafting of the State Program for the Health Improvement of the Population Affected by the SNT.
He is the author of 90 scientific papers, 2 copyright certificates of the Republic of Kazakhstan for inventions, 7 rationalization proposals, 4 scientific and methodological recommendations for practical health care and 15 educational and methodical works for residents and postgraduate medical students. For many years he was a member of the methodical commission of the Semey State Medical University on the Kazakh language.
In 2018 he was awarded the breastplate of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan «Денсаулық сақтау ісіне қосқан үлесі үшін».
Doctor of the highest category in two specialties. For many years, he has been carrying out medical advisory work in the endoscopy department, in the clinic of the University Hospital of Semey State Medical University.
