Project «Training of self-diagnostics of breast cancer in Kazakhstani young population» implemented by Foundation «Education for Democracy» and co-financed by Polish-American Foundation of Liberty in the frameworks of the program RITA «Changes in region».

AZS WSG Society (Poland, Bydgoszcz) is a realizer of the project. Universities-partners are the participants of the project (Kazakhstan, Semey):

1. University of Semey city named after Shakarim, NCJSC
2. Semey Medical University, NCJSC

This project is being implemented for 1 year in 3 milestones.

1. Training for teachers – delegates of universities participants of the project in Poland (Bydgoszcz) about algorithm of self-diagnostics of breast cancer on September 19–24, 2022: N.A. Balashkevich (Department of General Medical Practice of Semey) and G.K. Oraltayeva (Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology named after A.A. Kozbagarov) sent in an official trip from NCJSC «SMU».
2. Training about self-diagnostics of breast cancer for 100 of the university staff (Professors, Administrative personnel, Educational support staff) and for 500 students about early diagnostics of breast cancer with purpose to decrease mortality caused by that problem (October 2022 – March 2023).
3. Organization of «Academic Day of fight against breast cancer” in the universities-partners in Semey with participation of Polish specialists and implementation of intensive promotional campaign (April 2023).

Course of planned events according to program of the training was executed within the framework of delegates visit to Poland:

1. Meeting with Professor Mazhena Sobchak-Michalovska the Vice-rector of Wyższa Szkoła Gospodarki (WSG), and Tatyana Skaliy the Coordinator of the project.
2. Presentation of perspectives of realization of international projects together with WSG Group – was represented by Marek Bogush the Director of WSG international office.
3. University tour – acquaintance with project activity: visit to Academic Medical Centre, Bydgoszcz Medical School for adults – was given by WSG Professor Alexander Skaliy the Director of Institution of Sport and Physical Education.
4. Visit to the Centre of Active Rehabilitation and Sport «PARIS», acquaintance with possibilities of active rehabilitation.
5. Bydgoszcz Oncology Centre named after F. Lukashik tour, visit to clinical department of breast cancer and reconstructive surgery, department of prevention and health promotion, diagnostic laboratory and production of radiopharmacy – was given by Professor Vitold Kowalski the surgeon-oncologist of Bydgoszcz Oncology Centre.
6. Training for delegates from universities-partners about algorithm of self-diagnostics of breast cancer was performed by professor T. Ye. Odinets. Training was delivered in the format of interactive class. Theoretical fundamentals were represented in the lecture “Epidemiology, factors of the risk and clinical symptoms of breast cancer”. Training models were used to master the practical skills. For assessment of efficiency of training knowledge and skills of trainees were checked with pre-test and post-test as well as control of several methodics of mammary gland palpation for breast cancer diagnostics.
7. Medical Simulation Centre tour of Torun – was given by WSG Professor Alexander Skaliy the Director of Institution of Sport and Physical Education.

Certificates were awarded after successful completion of the training.[/vc_column_text]
