WHO estimates that approximately 325 million people worldwide are affected by hepatitis B and C. The goal of the WHO Global Hepatitis Strategy is to reduce new infections by 90% and deaths by 65% in 2016-2030. To accomplish this task, it is necessary to develop and implement effective programs for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of viral hepatitis.

On November 22, 2022, a seminar on the topic: “Diffuse liver diseases: epidemiology, diagnosis and modern treatment options” was held at the polyclinic No.3 in Semey. The participants of the seminar were the medical personnel. Interns of the GP 603 group reported on the epidemiology of viral hepatitis in the world, highlighted the issues of diagnosis and new data on the treatment of these diseases. The focus was on issues related to the latest methods for diagnosing viral hepatitis and the choice of treatment regimens for HCV and HBV.
