On December 8, 2022, at Semey Medical University, NСJSC, the Chairman of the Board – Rector of the University, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Altay Akhmetkalievich Dyussupov presented the results of the university’s activities for 2022 to the public, the student community, the university staff and media representatives. During the meeting, the results of the annual work of the university were announced, including educational, research and clinical, educational activities, as well as in the field of international cooperation.
The rector of the university focused the attention of the public on the most important successes and achievements, for example, in the current academic year, together with the Moscow Institute of Psychoanalysis, a new 2-degree educational program MBA (Master of Business Administration) – Management in Public Health was developed.
This year, in September, an agreement on strategic partnership was signed with the Russian National Research Medical University. N. I. Pirogov (Moscow), also with the Kazan State Medical University.
This year, thanks to purposeful active career guidance, it was possible to increase student enrollment by 37.6% more compared to the previous year. Residency admissions increased by 12.9%, respectively.
For 10 months, we have published 53 articles, of which 25 articles are in Q1 and Q2 quartiles, the average Hirsch index of the University’s teaching staff increased to 0.52.
With the support of the Head of State, in March of this year, by order of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, it was recommended that the construction of a new University Hospital in Semey be included in the National Project “Healthy Nation”. For the first time in 2022, on the basis of the trinity of science, practice and education, a regulation on the system of key performance indicators of the teaching staff and AMS of the University was developed.
Summing up his speech, Altay Akhmetkalievich also announced the results of the repair work carried out this year at the university, during which special attention was paid to improving the condition of dormitories, a canteen, as well as infrastructure for students and departments. It should be noted that these works will be continued next year.
The meeting participants also had the opportunity to ask questions to the speaker, express their wishes and suggestions aimed at improving the quality of education, developing science and medical practice.[/vc_column_text]
