On December 05, 2022, a subject Olympiad in general epidemiology was held at the Department of Public Health among 3rd and 4th year students of the specialty “Public Health”.

The Olympiad included two rounds: the first round was testing. Members of the jury (D.M.S., Professor Chayzhunusova N. Zh., Ph.D., Professor Tokanova Sh. E., Ph.D., Associate Professor Tokesheva Sh. M.) checked and evaluated the work of the participants . According to the results of testing, 3 teams were formed (Epidemiological Surveillance, Hygiene, Bolashak).

The second round of the Olympiad included 3 stages: 1 – a blitz survey; Stage 2 – assessment of practical skills and stage 3 – “CS-case-study”. Team members demonstrated a fairly high level of theoretical knowledge and skills in epidemiological surveillance and the development of anti-epidemic measures, creativity, and the ability to work in a team.

The Hygiene team was recognized as the winner of the Olympiad, the Epidnadzor team took the 2nd place and the Bolashak team took the 3rd place.

All participants of the subject Olympiad received certificates, the winners were awarded diplomas.
